- To have a positive self-image and to acknowledge, express and accept a range of feelings.
- To become increasingly more independent within the context of warm, nurturing, and accepting relationships with adults.
- To be alert and curious, to use initiative, to have confidence in his/her abilities, and to speak his/her mind with conviction.
- To respect the feelings and rights of others and begin to cooperate with peers.
- To put objects and events into relationships and notice similarities and differences.
- To come up with a variety of ideas, problems, and questions.
- To become increasingly more able to represent ideas both symbolically and linguistically.
